Lee Plaza Dental

The reason dentists move the Novocain needle back and forth is to make sure they are 1.) not hitting a blood vessel (which would cause a headache if anesthetic was injected into it); or 2.) hitting a nerve, which would give you quite a jolt if struck. How do I know this? Dr. Amanda Yi told me.

I never dreamed I would find a dentist I would miss going to. It's surreal. I had three visits over the summer, two of which involved needles and drilling, and my only sadness is that Dr. Yi's forearms are not strong enough to pull my wisdom teeth, so I could have her do that too.

The practice is conveniently located on Lee Highway, just a short hop from Wegmans. The staff are always pleasant, I was never kept waiting, and her charges are reasonable (I paid very little out of pocket after my dental insurance coverage).

As stated in previous reviews, there are TV screens in each treatment bay. Digital X-rays let you see the condition of your teeth immediately, with Dr. Yi clearly and patiently explaining what needs to be done - or not done.

My favorite toy was the panoramic x-ray that rotates around your head and gives you a complete view of all your teeth (and a few other features in that general region of your head). Mine showed that I have two extra, un-emerged teeth.

I just wish I also had extra thumbs, so I could give Lee Plaza Dental more than two thumbs up. :-)
